Over here we have different shades of tint, so you can have the darkest LEGAL shade of tint, which he must have had, or the cops would have fined him for it. But he till shouldn't have crap hanging in his car that obstruct his view! He SHOULD have been fined for that, but oz only knows that he was being fined for not giving way at a stop sign  dry

Depends on the state - apparently in Tennessee the darkest tint you can have is darker than in Ohio. As I found out from getting ticketed for it after moving here dry Ohio you can have tint, just not too dark.

The kids go to a summer day camp - it's run by the YMCA who does the before and after school care we use. It's at their school so drop off and pickup are in the same place. Two days a week they go to the pool for the day, two days are field trips (usually a park and a proper field trip - this week was a nature center with hiking one day, and a tour of a chocolate factory the other day), and one day spent on site. They have fun, and it totally wears them out lol

Huh...I wonder if that's the same day camp one of the Disney forum people was talking about.  She lives in Ohio and her daughter went to visit family and they signed her up for a day camp that was supposed to be swimming and crafts and such and I guess after it had just rained a ton, they took the kids on a nature hike.  They only had one leader, who was at the front, and there was no buddy system, so the little girl fell up to her knees and forearms in mud and no one noticed.  She managed to climb out of the mud, but had to run to catch up to the group, since no one noticed she wasn't with them and they just kept going.  The mom thought it was just swimming and doing some arts and crafts and was pretty peeved that they took them hiking after heavy rain and without sufficient supervision.  But I guess they probably have day camps like that all over...it just struck me because you said this week was hiking and they go to the pool 2 days.  Actually sounds like a pretty fun camp!  I'd have loved that when I was a kid!!

Its fun! The YMCA runs them all over the place in various cities, and most local daycares offer some sort of school-age child day camp too. Some of those are basically daycare and some are like the Y program. And the city has a similar camp program (its slightly cheaper, but doesn't go the entire summer, AND you have to pay for the whole thing up front, not weekly, which is why I stuck with the Y). If its a properly licensed child care place they have to follow the adult/child ratios set by the state, etc. so stuff like that shouldn't happen, and every trip needs a permission slip.

Well, her daughter is visiting relatives and they signed her up, not the mom.  The mom isn't even there...so what the relatives told mom was apparently not the whole truth.  I personally think she's over-reacting a bit.  Not necessarily about there not being sufficient supervision, but about the fact that the family signed the kid up for this day camp. She was angry because the kid was up there to visit, not be at a day camp, and when she gets home, there will only be 2 weeks left of her vacation to just hang out.  But what does she expect them to do with the kid the whole time?  They probably have to work during the summer, too, and I'm betting the kid will have more fun at the day camp than sitting at the family's house with no one to play with because she doesn't know anyone.  I think it might be the woman's ex's family, so I think she's just bitter towards him and doesn't like the girl being there in the first place.  I think she'd complain about it no matter what it was.  Sad for the little girl, because I'm sure she gets it and probably feeds her mom what she wants to hear...that she is not having fun and she can't wait to be home, so she doesn't betray her mom or make her feel bad, like she doesn't want to be with her mom.  I hope the girl is having a blast though, despite falling in the mud.

roger's back isn't great, but other than that we're doing ok, here. I'm just keeping my head down until the main bulk of holiday folks bugger off in the middle of august.

hope all is well, and eeeeep - not long now!!

Is Rog coming to Dublin, too?  Or will Mark be the only guy?  When I told him Matt wasn't coming, he says "So I have to tease you ladies all by myself??"

rog is coming for the day on the Saturday. It is such a shame Matt isn't coming, but I totally understand the logistics for them. I don't think ray will come with Lil but she might bring one or two of the kids.

Yeah, it's too bad that Abigail and Matt can't make it, but they've got other important stuff to do, so we'll see them some other time.  I can't wait though!!  And we don't fly out until the Monday, so I've been looking at stuff for Mark and the Kids and I to do when everyone else is gone.
Do you know how long it takes to get from the airport to Dublin proper?

Hi all! Just thought I would pop in and say hi!

Weather is lovely here atm, so I am hiding in the house as is tradition! I can't be coping with the heat at all.

I am so excited about Dublin, but am also terrified!  Laughing Ahhh, the joys of being a mental case! Those of you who haven't met me, I apologise in advance for any weirdness. I am an awkward wee specimen!   Laughing
